Applications are NOW CLOSED for the 2024-2025 AAES mentorship program! The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons is proud to offer a mentorship program to early- and mid-career members.
This is a formal, structured mentoring program. The Career and Leadership Development Committee will match mentors and mentees based on shared interests and surgical practice into families (senior AAES mentor [1], mid-career and/or early-career [2]) or pairs (senior AAES mentor with early or mid-career mentee). Mentorship spans many domains and can include (not limited to) career development, research goals, work-life balance, practice development, transition to practice, and leadership development. Goals are mentee-specific, and the program is mentee-driven.
Mentors and mentees will develop a program agreement and action plan, to be signed by all parties. Mentors and mentees will “meet” regularly throughout the year. Our goal is to create long-lasting, meaningful, and productive relationships. Our program will also include a no-fault “opt out” mechanism for participants.
Questions about the AAES Mentorship Program should be directed to the Chair of the Career Development and Leadership Committee, Dr. Sonia Sugg, [email protected]
The Career Development and Leadership Committee will review all applications and make final determinations regarding the 2024-2025 cycle. Applicants will be notified of a decision by August 9, 2024.
