Highlights of the Fellowship:

At the completion of his/her Comprehensive Endocrine Surgery Fellowship training, the fellow should be able to apply an integrated multidisciplinary approach, including surgical expertise, to patients with common and complicated endocrine surgical problems. To take advantage of the multidisciplinary expertise often required in the overall management of endocrine surgical patients, we have established clinical rotations in radiology for ultrasonography and computed tomography, nuclear medicine to encompass parathyroid and thyroid imaging and therapeutic administration, pathology and cytology, and the various subspecialties of medical endocrinology. The endocrine fellow would participate and be responsible for educational conferences and intraoperative teaching, as well as stimulate opportunities for clinical and collaborative translational research. The Endocrine Surgery Division annually performs approximately 400 thyroid, 400 parathyroid, and over 170 adrenal operations. The endocrine surgeons also perform operations on pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
